AGREEMENT IS EVERYTHING!!! Let's look at the scriptures:
Can two walk together, except they be agreed? ~Amos 3:3
The theological point of this text is this:
Amos uses this rhetorical question as part of a series of cause-and-effect parables. Just as a physical journey requires a shared direction, God's actions and warnings delivered through His prophets are purposefully aligned.
Ask yourself:
1) Is your direction a shared direction?
2) Is your morals and principles shared morals and principles?
If not you are headed in the WRONG DIRECTION! It's time for a SHIFT!
Correct application is:
- People often apply the verse to marriages, friendships, and partnerships to show that shared core values and a common direction are necessary for harmony.
- It highlights that cooperation requires intentional communication rather than forcing separate paths to merge by chance.
My question to you is, is your life's direction lined up with all levels of AGREEMENT? If not SHIFT before you WRECK!
