WHEN GOD SAYS TIME IS UP...YOU KNOW IT IS 'THE OLD ORDER' BECAUSE IT WILL KEEP FIGHTING TO STAY ALIVE OR INFLUENCE YOUR CHOICE TO ITS ADVANTAGE! SIMPLY WALK AWAY!
- The Warning: God pronounced judgment on the city of Sodom and told Lot and his family that their time there was up. Angels physically urged them to flee immediately and not look back (Genesis 19:15–17).
- The Resistance/Attachment: Lot hesitated, and the environment itself (along with emotional and cultural ties) made it difficult to leave. The angels literally had to grasp Lot, his wife, and his daughters by the hand to force them out of the city because they lingered (Genesis 19:16).
- The Instruction to Walk Away: They were commanded to escape to the mountains without turning back to look at what was being destroyed. When Lot's wife looked back, she became a pillar of salt (Genesis 19:26), symbolizing a fatal attachment to a season and a place that God had already closed.
WHO ELSE ASIDE FROM LOT GOT TRAPPED INTO LISTENING TO WHAT GOD IS FINISHED WITH?
Jacob Leaving Laban: Jacob spent 20 years with his uncle Laban, a season that eventually turned toxic and manipulative. When God told Jacob it was time to go back to his homeland, Laban tried to bargain, pursue, and influence him to stay, but Jacob packed up and walked away by faith (Genesis 31).
SO WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?
HERE IS WHAT JESUS ADVISES US TO DO:
The Disciples Leaving a Town (The Dust-Off): Jesus instructed His disciples that if a town or house rejected God's message and the timing/season was sterile, they should leave and "shake the dust off your feet" as a testimony against them, refusing to endlessly fight or compromise with what is finished (Matthew 10:14).
Jesus came and was fulfilling the old commission and was implementing the NEW commission at the same time. He understood that the old commission would not want to be replaced or leave the post. Jesus understood you can never reason with an old guard or system. They will wear you out with arguments and copycat strategies. His answer? Simply...'shake the dust from your feet.'
I pray for you TODAY...that you REFUSE what God DEEMED FINISHED AND has been standing in the kingdom for so long ...and EMBRACE your assigned JEREMIAH 29:11. GOD IS COUNTING ON YOU TO MOVE INTO YOUR OWN FAITH....NOT THE FAITH AND COUNSEL OF OTHERS! Especially what has already been....time to walk in the new. I speak peace to your mind! In Jesus name!
