Devotional Reflections

7/18/2024 - (Devotional Reflections) The idea of the translators here is to say any failures or what one may consider failures or mistakes are not permanent. The reason why is because God has ordered the course of his/her life.

7/17/2024 - (Devotional Reflections) To clarify the number of years he was invalid was not his age. It was the number of years he was invalid. Thirty eight years. John 5:14 lets us know this infirmity was somehow connected to sinning in his youth. Today it's important to remember sin always pays wages. His sin cost him 38yrs of his life. Jesus warned him if he kept sinning that the mercy could be revoked and what came next would be worse. Sin has consequences even in our youth.

7/16/2024 - (Devotional Reflections) The glory of salvation belongs strictly to God. Our salvation is secured by Christ alone. No human effort can obtain such a marvelous work of grace. No doubt the creator is making a point to creation that his (mankinds) efforts has no weight concerning matters of His Sovereignty. In this one act The Lord God proved without a shadow of a doubt the necessity of casting crowns to mankind and every created being.

7/15/2024 - (Devotional Reflections) The word 'He' speaks of Christ now taking His rightful seat as the head of humanity. The idea here is that these offices were 'gifts' and NOT foundational offices as we see in Ephesians 2:20. This can be a bit confusing because of our habit to lump scriptures together instead of disecting scriptures.  This means there are prophets and apostles that are assigned in churches but not in the kingdom as 'set' foundations who are sent to the nation of Jesus Christ like we see in Ephesians 2:20.

7/14/2024 - (Devotional Reflections) James is laying the case of how difficult it is to tame the tongue. This scripture illiustrates how easy it is for mankind to tame the most brutal beast in the earth but controlling his/her tongue is still a challenge.

7/13/2024 - (Devotional Reflections) - This legal act executed by Jesus dying on the cross justified us. It's our job to execute it in our lives. So once we get on the 'witness stand' of our hearts with total belief and then speak our belief the law that was made for us is now in effect. Understand that when laws are put in place all we need to do is line up and then enforce them in our lives. When we do we have the backing of heaven.

7/12/2024 - (Devotional Reflections) - For the very 1st time the love of God openly and clearly expresses His nature not just His intent. We also see here that true faith is in execution. Jesus executed the cross because of the words of God, not promises of men. His allegiance was to God to fulfil His divine destiny not to men and their destinies. Men's destinies came as a result of Jesus alligance to execute the word of His Father. Not the destiny altering voices of men.

7/11/2024 - (Devotional Reflections) - When God asks us to do anything in scripture this means He has given us the ability to do it. He has already taken into consideration both our human frailties and His divine enablement power via our new creation spirit. So if a command of God  seems as if it's impossible or hard for us to accomplish maybe the issue isn't with God. Maybe we should look at our will. Here's an excerpt from my book, Why Obey God, that may help,

'...Christ empowers you to win the battle against your body which fights against your new belief system. Your newly empowered will makes obedience which was once impossible now completely possible. (Romans 8:18).

Why Obey God?, Apostle Crystal Sherie

7/16/2024 - 'Although the sovereignty of God is universal and absolute, it is not the sovereignty of blind power. It is coupled with infinite wisdom, holiness and love. And this doctrine, when properly understood, is a most comforting and reassuring one. Who would not prefer to have his affairs in the hands of a God of infinite power, wisdom, holiness and love, rather than to have them left to fate, or chance, or irrevocable natural law, or to short-sighted and perverted self? Those who reject God's sovereignty should consider what alternatives they have left.' ~Loraine Boettner (Ephesians 2:9)

7/15/2024 - My dear friends, your faith did not begin at birth, and it will not end at death. Faith is a choice. Strengthen your faith, and live to be deserving of the Savior’s approving words: “Great is thy faith.” As you do, I promise you that your faith, through the grace of Jesus Christ, will one day allow you to stand with those you love, clean and pure in the presence of God.”
